ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), August 21 (RIA Novosti) - Head of the Russian Federal Industry Agency Boris Alyoshin announced the end of the MAKS-2005 international aerospace show in Zhukovsky Sunday.

"The first three days of the show were indicative of its high international status. Indeed, MAKS-2005 left the famous aerospace show in Farnborough far behind by the number of visitors," Alyoshin said.

This year, the show, which is held every two years, has become the most impressive one over the last twelve years. About 200 aircraft and 654 exhibits were on display. Experts from 40 countries attended the air show.

Over a dozen major contracts on aircraft supplies were signed at the show. The first one was signed by Rosoboronexport, Russia's main arms exporter, and the Indian Hal corporation in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The contract provides for the organization of a licensed production of AL-55I aircraft engines.

King of Jordan Abdullah II signed a contract with Rosoboronexport and the Federal Industry Agency to buy two Il-76MF military transport planes.

The show featured performances of Russian, Italian, French and American pilots.
