MOSCOW, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - The Svyazinvest shareholders' annual general meeting has been scheduled for September 14, the company said Monday following a board of directors' conference call.

The board also agreed on the agenda of the shareholders' annual meeting. At the upcoming meeting the company's annual report and the auditor will also be approved, and the shareholders will elect the board of directors and revision commission.

The annual shareholders' meeting was initially scheduled to take place on June 29, but was postponed since the Federal Agency for the Management of Federal Property had not provided a directive for voting on agenda issues. The directive was delayed due to disagreements over the level of the group's dividend payouts for 2004.

The board of directors was to announce the new date for the shareholders' meeting at the July 14 board meeting, but this decision was postponed as the company had not received the necessary questionnaire forms from government representatives within the board.

Svyazinvest Group is one of the world's largest telecommunications company. It incorporates seven large interregional electronic communication companies. The group has a controlling stake in the telecom companies Central Telegraph, Dagsvyazinform, Rostelekom, and Giprosvyaz. Svyazinvest also has a stake in Moscow's city telephone network company MGTS.

The group is 75% minus one share state-owned (the Federal Agency for the Management of Federal Property holds 50% plus share, the Russian Federal Property Fund 25% minus two shares). The Cyprus-based consortium Mustcom Ltd. holds a blocking stake (25% minus one share).
