MOSCOW, July 1 (RIA Novosti) - Chinese President Hu Jintao and deputies of the Russian State Duma (the lower chamber of the parliament) discussed bilateral economic cooperation in Moscow, parliamentarian Andrei Kokoshin said Friday.
"The meeting among Chinese President Hu Jintao and State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov was purposeful and productive," said Kokoshin, the chairman of the Duma's committee for CIS affairs and Russian diaspora relations.
The sides discussed increasing Russian supplies of machinery and high-tech products to China, he added.
The meeting focused on developing cooperation among Russian and Chinese border regions, particularly, in the Russian Far East and China's northeastern provinces, the parliamentarian said.
