MOSCOW, July 1 (RIA Novosti) - A Moscow court ruled today to keep the second suspect charged with the murder of Paul Khlebnikov, the American editor of the Russian version of Forbes magazine, in custody until October 9, 2005.

The court agreed with prosecutors' arguments that Kazbek Dukuzov might hinder the investigation or abscond if released. It was also taken into consideration that Dukuzov had been charged with serious crimes.

Earlier today, the court prolonged the detention of the first suspect in the Khlebnikov case, Musa Vakhayev, for three months.

Belarussian police arrested the two native Chechens, Vakhayev and Dukuzov, in Minsk (the capital of Belarus) on November 17 last year at the request of Russian security services. They were later handed over to the Russian party.

Earlier, Russian prosecutors said the investigation into the killing of Khlebnikov, who had been with Forbes since 1989, had been completed.

According to the investigation, Vakhayev and Dukuzov arrived at Khlebnikov's office in a Lada car with false number plates, and shot him with a Makarov pistol when he was leaving the building.
