Finance Minister Kudrin to report on oil sector at G8 meeting in London

MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin will report on Russia's oil sector issues at the G8 Finance Minister meeting in London. The minister who has already left for London will also have a few bilateral working meetings on the sidelines of the event.

In particular, he will meet World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz to discuss international economic issues and Russia's cooperation with this international organization.

G8 finance ministers will consider development issues on Friday, in particular, poor countries' debts and development funding.

The agenda of Saturday envisages a working breakfast of G8 finance ministers, with their colleagues from India, Brazil, South Africa and China attending the meeting. The ministers will discuss the trends in international economy and trade, and also arrangements for the UN summit Millennium Development Goals due this September.

On the same day, G8 finance ministers will continue considering development issues, and the energy and oil sectors in the G8 format. They will also discuss ways to put an end to the funding of terrorists and money laundering.

The meeting is a preparation for the G8 summit due in Gleneagles (Scotland) on July 6-8, 2005.

The G8 includes Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, Russia, the U.S., France, and Japan.
