MOSCOW, May 31 (RIA Novosti) - A "roadmap" to improve trade and economic relations with the U.S. will be prepared before the end of June, Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said after a meeting between Russian and US businessmen.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez also attended the meeting.

"At the meeting in St. Petersburg we agreed on drawing up a joint plan of action to improve bilateral trade environment. This plan will be discussed in business circles," Gref said.

According to Gref, businessmen supported this move and pledged to submit their proposals to complement the roadmap as soon as possible.

The minister said that the document would reflect all the problems in Russian-U.S. trade relations, including trade restrictions and access to the market.

The roadmap will also focus on bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, Russia's accession to the WTO, intellectual property protection, interaction in hi-tech industries, collaboration in the engineering sector and others.

American businessmen made a number of proposals to the Russian minister. These referred to protection from unfair competition, intellectual property protection and improvement of tax administration, particularly VAT return. Russian businessmen raised the question of supporting Russian companies in America and spoke for simplifying the visa regulations between the countries.
