THE HAGUE, May 30 (RIA Novosti, Andrei Poskakukhin) - A delegation of the Federation Council (the upper house of the Russian parliament) arrived in the Hague on Monday to get acquainted with agrarian lawmaking practice in the Netherlands, Gennady Gorbunov, the chairman of the council's committee for agrarian and food policy, said.
"An important task of our committee is to protect the Russian market and agricultural producers," he said. "To thoroughly examine the experience of Dutch state, branch, public and other organizations involved in agrarian lawmaking is a key task of our visit."
According to Gorbunov, the Russian delegation is interested, particularly, in the principles of the formation of budget expenditures and revenues and the percentage allocated on supporting agricultural producers from budget revenues.
This information may help the committee's members draft a new agreement on economic cooperation between Russia and the Netherlands.
The delegation of the Federation Council will leave the Netherlands on June 3.
