MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - The frigate HMS Sutherland of Great Britain's Royal Navy has paid a visit to Baltiisk, the main base of the Russian Baltic Fleet, aide to the Russian Navy's commander-in-chief, Captain 1st Rank Igor Dygalo reported.
According to him, this is a business visit. The Sutherland's crewmen are to meet with commanders of the Baltic Fleet's garrison and to visit the Russian destroyer Nastoichivy. The destroyer's crewmen will pay a return visit to the HMS Sutherland.
On May 22, the British frigate will leave Baltiisk and head for St. Petersburg. The business visit to St. Petersburg's port will continue from May 24 to 27.
"British seamen will attend the Piskarevskoye cemetery, the Avrora cruiser, the naval institute and Peter the Great's Naval Corps. Residents of St. Petersburg will be able to visit the British frigate," Dygalo noted.
