PARIS, November 15 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government is preparing a resolution on support to joint projects in the automobile industry, Sergei Naryshkin, head of the Russian government staff in the ministerial rank, has said on Monday.

He participated as a co-chairman in the sitting in Paris of the Russian-French economic, financial, and industrial and trade cooperation council.

Support for joint car making projects was considered as part of discussion of work of the Avtoframos joint venture, set up by French Renault and the Moscow mayoral office, he said.

Naryshkin recalled that not long ago Renault has increased its share in the joint venture and the Moscow mayoral office sold its 26-percent block of shares.

"This joint stock configuration lets the French invest in the purchase of equipment and start of car making", Naryshkin said.

He also said that Renault is increasing its participation in the project and is ready to invest additional sums in order to make 100,000 to 120,000 cars annually instead of the earlier planned 60,000 cars.

To Naryshkin, government support for projects like Avtoframos intends "lower or zero rates on accessories arriving from abroad for car making".

At the same time, the head of the government staff noted that "the final contents of the resolution will depend on our philosophy for the support of car making in Russia".

"We are not interested in mere screw driving but in own manufacture, expansion of the production of accessories", he explained. This is why "the imported accessories should be not merely free from customs duties and the value-added tax but, investments in the production of accessories in Russia should be encouraged".
