MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A Belavia flight from the Belarusian capital Minsk to Antalya, Turkey changed course and will land in Moscow's Domodedovo airport, a source in the aviation sector told Sputnik on 26 Monday.
An Antalya-bound Belavia Boeing 737 flight from Minsk has landed safely at Moscow's Domodedovo airport, a spokesperson of the emergency services said on 26 July. The plane arrived in Moscow after changing course and heading to Russia's capital because a pressure fault sensor was triggered on board.
Media reports emerged earlier in the day claiming that the Boeing 737 sent a distress signal near the Russian city of Voronezh and planned an emergency landing there.
"The aircraft is heading to Domodedovo for a quicker solution of the technical problems," the source explained.
There are 197 passengers and 7 crew members on board," the source added.
According to the website Flightradar24, the plane's flight altitude was about 2,500 metres. It has been in the air for almost two hours.
The Belavia plane flew bypassing Ukraine, and after sending a distress signal, it turned to the northeast. The aircraft changed course first towards Voronezh, but due to being low in fuel it changed course again, and head towards Moscow.
The Belarusian Embassy in Moscow said it is ready to provide assistance to the passengers after the Belavia plane landed in Domodedovo airport.
