Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Peter Maurer are set to hold a meeting in Moscow on Thursday.

ICRC Hopeful of Resuming Cooperation Between US, Russia on Syria - President
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Peter Maurer arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss crises in Syria and Ukraine with Russian officials.

According to the Russian Cabinet’s press service, Medvedev and Maurer are expected to discuss the interaction between Russia and the ICRC to react to humanitarian crises in various regions of the world.

The ICRC head has expressed hope that the dialogue and cooperation between Russia and the United States on Syria would resume under the new US administration, that is set to replace outgoing US President Barack Obama’s in January.
