According to a press release of the Russian Security Council, issued following a meeting of BRICS High Representatives for Security Issues that was held in the Indian capital of New Delhi, Patrushev also proposed to ease extradition procedures regarding suspected terrorists.
"It is necessary to enhance exchange of information in regard to terrorists' movements and their participation in radicalization of political and public mood in our states," the press release read.
BRICS is an association of five developing economies — Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa — which comprises over one third of the world’s population. The five nations have a combined nominal GDP equivalent to approximately 20 percent of gross world product.
Countries across the globe have been boosting their security measures following a series of recent terrorist attacks such as those in Paris, Nice and Brussels and a continuing violence with the use of suicide bombers in the crisis-torn countries, such as Afghanistan or the Middle Eastern states.
