    A passenger plane of the US United Airlines flying from London to Chicago was diverted to Edinburgh on Tuesday after declaring emergency over Scotland, an air traffic tracking website indicated.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — United flight UA929 entered the holding pattern to burn fuel and was circling 26,000 feet over the Scottish capital at the time of reporting, according to data provided by airlive.net. 

    ​The Boeing 767 is currently dumping fuel as it prepares to land at Edinburgh Airport. The aircraft took off from London at 07:00 GMT and was about an hour into its flight when it was determined an emergency landing was necessary.
