"The meeting between the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, and the delegation representing the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. [CET] this morning at the Palais des Nations," the office said in a press release.
Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad fighting a number of opposition factions and extremist groups.
On Friday, the highly-anticipated talks on Syrian reconciliation mediated by the United Nations began in the Swiss city in line with the UN Security Council's resolution on Syrian settlement, that ruled to bring the entire spectrum of political groups in the crisis-torn country to the negotiating table.
The High Negotiations Committee (HNC), the Riyadh-formed Syrian opposition delegation, met de Mistura on Sunday and Monday.
