DAVOS (Sputnik) — The fourth industrial revolution, which will be accompanied by the technology intrusion in all the areas of human lives and replacement of human labor with robotic power, will urge the humanity to reevaluate its role on this planet, Amira Yahyaoui, the co-chair of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2016, said Wednesday.

"This revolution could be the revolution of values," she said at a press conference on the first day of the Davos forum focused on the fourth industrial revolution as its main theme.

Yahyaoui, a Tunisian human rights activist, said that the humans no longer had the monopoly on the Earth, and had to reevaluate their behavioral patterns.

"We should think what we are as humans, why we are better, why we should be the ones better than others," Yahyaoui said.

Sarah Burrow, the general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, added that the technological takeover during the new industrial revolution would create more conflict in the society.

"Our fear is not that technology will simply displace jobs, our fear is that technology will be used by the few who already have the wealth," Burrow pointed out.

The Geneva-based WEF annual meeting is traditionally held between late January and early February in Davos. This year it is held on January 20-23.
