"We would like to receive information about the Russian strategy in Syria, as well as about the real current situation in Ukraine. Maybe we will also touch upon the migrant crisis in Europe and the Russian position, even though Russia is not directly impacted by this crisis," Mariani told RIA Novosti.
Mariani noted that the question of countering terrorism was especially important for France in light of the lethal attacks in Paris last month.
"We shall discuss, in the meeting with Lavrov, everything that is related to terrorism, with a transition to the events in Syria," he said.
The delegation members will also meet Russian lawmakers, and attend an inter-parliamentarian seminar at Russia’s lower house, the State Duma, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
