Interpol has issued a red notice for the arrest of Anatoly Zemlyanka, an ethnically Russian man who is suspected of having joined the terrorist group.

Zemlyanka, whose photo and descriptions were posted on the wanted list on the Interpol’s official website, was allegedly involved in the recent execution of a hostage by the Islamist group.

Earlier in December, Daesh released a video reportedly showing Zemlyanka executing a Chechen man named Magomed Khasiev in Syria for allegedly being "a Russian spy".

According to Interpol, Zemlyanka is also wanted by Russian authorities for being a member of an illegal armed group.

Daesh (ISIL/ISIS) is prohibited in Russia and many other countries. It is responsible for having instigated an armed conflict with the governments of Syria and Iraq and has engaged in gross human rights violations in the territory it controls, including the enslavement, torture and execution of civilians. Additionally, it has claimed responsibility for a series of deadly attacks in Paris on November 13 that left 130 people dead as well as the October bombing of a Russian Airbus A321 in Egypt, which claimed the lives of 224 people.
