MOSCOW (Sputnik) — All of the 16 injured people are being treated at the Pemex hospital in the city of Ciudad del Carmen in the Mexican state of Campeche and the Mexican Social Security Institute. Two of them are in critical condition.
"Unfortunately, the death of 4 workers in today's incident at the Abkatun platform is confirmed," Pemex said.
As many as 300 employees of state-owned Mexican company Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) have been evacuated from an oil platform off the coast of Campeche, Mexico after a fire broke out Wednesday, the company said on Twitter.

According to the company, at least eight ships are trying to extinguish the fire, reportedly started by an explosion.
There are currently no reports of oil leaking into the water.
