According to officials at both posts, borders at Oncupinar and Cilvegozu in Turkey's Hatay province were closed to individuals and freight crossing from Syria since March 9.
Syrians with passports are able to return to Syria. Turkey's borders have been opened to refugees since the beginning of Syria's civil war four years ago.
The city of Aleppo, which is close to the border, has been fought over by government forces and insurgents groups struggling to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad. About 200,000 people were killed in a conflict.
