MOSCOW, October 25 (RIA Novosti) - Two cousins of the Marysville High School shooter Jaylen Fryberg are among the wounded, The Seattle Times reported.
Andrew Fryberg and Nate Hatch, the cousins of the 14-year-old high school freshman confirmed as the gunman of Friday's fatal shooting at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School and two other girls whose names were not revealed are among the wounded and are now out of surgery, the newspaper said Friday. Earlier, it was reported that one other girl was killed.
The incident took place Friday at Marysville-Pilchuck High School north of Seattle, Washington. The shooter shot himself after opening fire.
The reasons behind the shooting remain unknown.
Public mass shootings in the United States have been on the rise since 2011, according to Harvard researchers. Studies show that a public mass shooting occurred on average every 172 days since 1982, while in September 2011 this number spiked to 14 public incidents in less than every 172 days. In the subsequent three-year phase, they occurred every 64 days on average.
