MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - The underwater search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 has not brought any results, the first update of the latest probe released by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) on Wednesday said.

Nevertheless, the search will continue. The ATSB is currently leading the probe conducted by the Malaysian-contracted vessel GO Phoenix.

"GO Phoenix continues to conduct underwater search operations," the ATSB reported.

"At one point, operations were halted in order to recover the deep tow vehicle and rectify a cable connection fault. Operations were quickly recommenced," the ATSB added.

The underwater search started on October 6, with GO Phoenix and Fugro Discovery ships exploring the areas where the plane is most likely to be found.

The Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing vanished on March 8 with 227 passengers and 12 crew members. On March 24, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said that according to satellite data, MH370 crashed in southern part of the Indian Ocean. All 239 people on board are believed to be dead.
