DONETSK, August 10 (RIA Novosti) – All ceasefire talks are pointless as Ukrainian authorities are completely incapable of negotiating, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) officials said Sunday adding that they were still ready to continue consultations with the participation of the OSCE even though the previous efforts yielded no results.

“As the Ukrainian side is absolutely incapable of negotiating, as practice shows, all talks on the conditions of a ceasefire are pointless… Despite the calls of the international community Kiev continues its punitive operation,” DPR Ministry of Information Policy said in a statement.

The militia is nevertheless ready to continue “consultations with the participation of the OSCE [Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe].” The DPR authorities also stressed that Ukrainian officials should take part in the negotiations, and not “a certain contact” which has no formal authorities.

Earlier on Saturday, DPR Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko announced that independence forces are ready for ceasefire in order to prevent the humanitarian catastrophe from spreading across Donbas but underlined that a ceasefire should be bilateral.
