A neighbor of Hollywood star Tom Cruise was tasered by a security guard after he was seen trespassing at the actor’s Beverly Hills home Sunday night, local police said.
The security guard observed the prowler scaling the fence to Cruise’s property around 9:35 p.m. Sunday, a spokesman for the Beverly Hills Police Department said in a telephone interview.
The guard used a Taser gun to temporarily disable the man, identified by police as Jason Sullivan, 41, who reportedly lives in the neighborhood.
Neither Cruise nor his family were home at the time of the incident, the spokesman said.
Police noticed the smell of alcohol on Sullivan’s breath when they arrived at the scene and took him into custody, added the spokesman.
Sullivan, who was charged with trespassing, was taken to the hospital for treatment of any injuries stemming from the stun gun.
