A suicide bomber blew himself up on Saturday at a sports field in northwest Afghanistan's Faryab province, killing four and injuring another 19 people, a provincial governor said.
The attack occurred in Shirin Tagab while people were playing buzkashi, a traditional team sport played on horseback. Hundreds of locals arrived to watch the game, Governor Abdul Haq Shafiq said.
On Saturday morning, nine people, including four children, were killed when their minibus hit a roadside bomb in east Afghanistan's Khost province.
Late on Friday, Taliban militants fired two rockets into the U.S. base in Afghanistan's Parwan province. No casualties were reported.
Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said however several foreigners were killed and wounded.
