Four people were killed after a light plane crashed into a meat plant in the capital of Guatemala, local media reported.
According to a spokeswoman for the country's Civil Aviation Service, a Piper light aircraft crashed into a meat-processing plant in downtown of the Guatemala City several minutes after taking off from the La Aurora airport.
Three people on board the aircraft and one man at the plant were killed in the crash.
She added that the pilot asked an air traffic controller for an emergency landing permission just moments before the crash.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses say that the aircraft en route to San Salvador exploded in the air before falling down on the plant.
Rescuers and fire fighters are currently working at the scene of the crash while experts from the national aviation committee are trying to establish the cause of the accident.
