JAKARTA, June 27 (RIA Novosti) -- An Indonesian military plane carrying 18 people was reported missing on Thursday, an air force spokesman said on Friday.

"We lost contact with the plane. We assume it crashed but we are still searching for it," said Chaerudin Ray, adding a search was under way in the Salak Mountain region, about 60 miles south of Jakarta.

The Casa-212 military aircraft was flying from the capital Jakarta to Bogor, in West Java, with 13 passengers and five crew members aboard, including one British national, one Singaporean and one Indian.

The plane was to test a digital mapping camera, the spokesman said.
