Andorran Minister of Foreign Affairs, Culture and Cooperation Juli Minoves Triquell will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, top officials of the Russian Ministry of Culture and with the administration of the Russian State Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
"On April 17 Lavrov and Minoves plan to analyze the results of 12 years of diplomatic relations between our countries, discuss basic directions for their further development and to consider issues of Russian and Andorran cooperation within the framework of leading international organizations," Mikhail Kammynin said.
He added, "It is expected that the talks between the Russian and Andorran foreign ministers will become a key link in our bilateral political dialogue, which has been successfully developing going on a second decade."
Kamynin said diplomatic relations between Russia and Andorra were established in 1995, but that until 2006 the countries maintained them via their diplomatic representations in Spain's capital Madrid. In February 2006 Andorra decided to appoint an ambassador to Russia.
