BISHKEK, May 15 (RIA Novosti's Yulia Orlova) - Around 20 bullet-wounded Uzbek refugees are being treated for free in Kyrgyzstan, the country's health ministry told RIA Novosti on Sunday.

Kyrgyz authorities have set up a refugee camp in the Suzak district of the Jalal-abad Region where many refugees have crossed the Uzbek border. Currently over 550 people, a hundred of them women and 16 children, have found shelter at the camp.

According to the refugees, they have fled Andizhan in the early hours of Saturday as the government forces stormed the city to stop the unrest. Of a thousand people that tried to flee the country, only half made it to the border, a witness told RIA Novosti.

The Kyrgyz government told RIA Novosti it was expecting international organizations, including the UN, to join in on the refugee effort.
