Tech-Savvy Cops in UAE to Combat Crime With Batman-Esque Hoverbikes
06:00 GMT 12.10.2017 (Updated: 19:32 GMT 19.10.2022) Hoversurf, a Russian tech company that builds drones, presented their latest development to the world together with the Dubai police: a drone-motorcycle hybrid. Watch the video below to see it in action!
The rideable hoverbike, designed for deployment in emergency situations, was unveiled during Gitex Technology Week at the Dubai World Trade Center on Monday. This surreal vehicle with four propellers can be either piloted by a police officer or operated remotely.
On the ground, the Hoversurf can operate for eight hours on one battery charge and reaches a maximum speed of 200km/h. It can lift a driver-pilot up to five meters off the ground and fly for at least 25 minutes at a speed of 70km/h. The vehicle is also capable of carrying an additional 300 kilos.
