One of only two airworthy, restored Ilyushin IL-2 aircraft in existence took to the skies at the MAKS 2017 International Aviation and Space Salon in Zhukovsky, Moscow region.

The legendary Soviet aircraft was shot down in 1943 and fell through the ice at Krivoye Lake in the Murmansk region; 72 years later, it was plucked from the bottom of the lake and underwent restoration.
