Hundreds of professional clowns took part in an annual parade in Lima on May 25 calling on the Peruvian Congress to officially recognize the date as National Clown Day.

Dressed in their bizarre costumes, colorful wigs and epic face paint, performers danced and entertained crowds with puppets as they paraded through the capital's historic center. The parade was organized by Peru's Cultural Association of Clowns and Circus Artists.
