Special suits worn on top of spacesuits intended to protect astronauts from cold, strong wind and rain.

A new heat-shielding suit for Russian cosmonauts called the Polar Bear is going into use. It is put on right before launch and withstands extreme temperatures down to —50 degrees Celsius. The Polar Bear suit is also very comfy, as well as quick and easy to put on and off.

Such suits were worn shortly before the launch to the ISS by Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet and NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, the crew of the manned spacecraft Soyuz-03 MS launched from Baikonur on November 17.
