16:30 GMT 23.05.2016 (Updated: 07:16 GMT 27.09.2023) Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Canadian team on winning the gold medals at the world hockey championship.
Canada secured a 2:0 victory over Finland on Sunday in Moscow.
"Thanks to Canada for offering the world such a scintillating sports discipline. Thanks to team Finland for their great, very talented game," said Putin.
