Truck knocks out pedestrian bridge

A truck travelling with its dumper raised has hit a pedestrian footbridge in Istanbul, injuring one person crossing. Security camera video of the accident released by police on Wednesday shows the truck travelling on an Istanbul highway crashing through the pedestrian overpass and the person falling off and hitting the road. Footage also shows passers-by rushing to the man's aid.
Two other people on the footbridge escaped without injury.
Police were investigating why the truck was travelling with its dumper raised.
Private Kanal D television reported that the driver said the dumper moved up suddenly while he was driving.
The accident occurred in Beylikduzu district on the European side of the city.
