The UK officially pulled out of the EU in January 2020. After almost a year of tumultuous negotiations on the nature of post-Brexit relations, the two sides announced they had reached an agreement in late December. This came into force on 1 January 2021 and means that EU rules no longer apply in the UK.

Sputnik comes live from London, the United Kingdom capital, where Prime Minister Boris Johnson is presenting the so-called Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy to the House of Commons.

Given the title 'Global Britain in a Competitive Age', the 100-page review will assess the UK's priorities and objectives in the post-Brexit era related to defence, security, development and foreign policy.

The review was published online at 11:30 GMT.
