England's Coronavirus Death Toll Rises by More Than 400 in 24 Hours

Earlier in the day, the spokesman for Boris Johnson stated that the prime minister receives daily updates on the coronavirus situation in the country but he isn't doing any government work.

The National Health Service reported on Monday that the COVID-19 death toll in English hospitals rose by 429 to 14,829.

"15 of the 429 patients (aged between 49 and 92 years old) had no known underlying health condition," the health service said.

According to the World Health Organisation, the UK currently has 114,221 registered cases of the coronavirus, with the death toll standing at 15,464.
