The Russian and Swedish foreign ministers have met in Moscow for talks covering cooperation in the Arctic and in Northern Europe.

Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov is holding a press conference with his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde following a bilateral meeting.

Lavrov and Linde last spoke in Slovakia's capital Bratislava nearly two months ago.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the country wants to deepen its ties with Sweden in the spirit of good neighbourliness. The areas of mutual interest, it said, include trade, investment, and culture.
