The 227 meter-long and 27-meter-wide prefabricated steel arch will be installed on 35-meter-tall fairway pylons.
The barge with the bridge arch on board reached the site taking 90 minutes to cover the 4 kilometers separating the assembly site in Kerch from the Kerch-Yenikal Canal.

The Kerch Strait connects the Black and Azov seas, separating the Kerch Peninsula of Crimea from the Taman peninsula.
The Strait is 3.1 kilometers (1.9 miles) to 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) wide and up to 18 meters (59 feet) deep.
