Rosneftegaz Preparing to Transfer Funds to Russian Government
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Funds on Rosneftegaz accounts are absolutely transparent, are under government control, and are sometimes used for various projects that Russian government cannot find budget funds on, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday at annual press conference.

"There are reserves like Rosneftegaz funds. They are absolutely transparent, there is nothing opaque, they are controlled by the government, and we are funding some things from there… For example, in the last and the next year the projects in the field of science and education will be additionally funded using Rosneftegaz. The problems related to small aircraft in order to resume the production of aircraft for regional lines will be funded from there as well. The projects related to large aircraft and for the production of high-thrust engines will be financed from there too," Putin said.

"These are the things, which eventually after all the disputes and fights the government cannot provide money for, but needs to be financed, we will spend Rosneftegaz funds," he concluded.

Rosneftegaz, the owner of a majority stake in Rosneft, said on December 16 that it had received money from the sale of 19.5 percent of Rosneft shares and was preparing to transfer 710.8 billion rubles ($11.5 billion) to the federal budget with account for instructions to avoid volatility in the country's currency market.
