    French companies can help Crimea with the development of several sectors, including energy, agriculture, tourism and banking, a member of a delegation of French lawmakers, who has recently visited Crimea, Nicolas Dhuicq, said Monday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A delegation of 11 French lawmakers headed by former Minister of Transport and current member of the French parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Thierry Mariani visited Crimea from July 29 to 31.

    "There are areas, that we could help Crimea develop. It could be infrastructure projects, agriculture, tourism and energy," Dhuicq said at a press conference in Moscow.

    Russia's historical southern region of Crimea rejoined the country after a 2014 referendum. Almost 97 percent of the region's population voted for reunification in a referendum. Sevastopol, which has a federal city status, supported the move by 95.6 percent of votes.
