Russia’s Western Military District troops stationed at four Moscow Region garrisons to exercise counterterrorist drills.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia’s Western Military District troops stationed at four Moscow Region garrisons performed snap counterterrorist exercises, the district’s spokesman said Tuesday.

"Sudden combat readiness inspections of anti-terror teams were held among Western Military District formations and troops units stationed on the territory of four Moscow Region garrisons," Igor Muginov told reporters.

Combined units assigned to anti-terror groups worked out the practicalities and operational procedures of repelling attacks on military-oriented objects, military installations and garrisons, he added.

Around 1,000 personnel and 300 pieces of military equipment took part in the exercises using individually developed scripts, including procedures in the event of the use of weapons of mass destruction.
