MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved the order of sanctioned foodstuffs destruction on the Russian border, the Russian Cabinet of Ministers said on its official website Friday.
President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed a decree authorizing the destruction of food imports under current embargo starting August 6.
“The destruction of sanctioned foodstuffs would be realized in front of two independent witnesses. The destruction would be captured on video and photographed stating the date and the time of destruction,” the statement published by the Russian Cabinet of Ministers said.
The decision about the destruction of the sanctioned foodstuffs would be concluded by officials from the watchdogs of Rospotrebnadzor, Rosselkhoznadzor or the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
