MOSCOW, May 20 (RIA Novosti) — Up to 5 persons died and 45 got injured in two passenger and freight trains collision in Moscow region, a spokesman for the Operational team on-site told RIA Novosti Tuesday.
"A total of 50 people got injured, five of them died," the spokesperson said, adding that 15 people got heavy injuries.
The accident occurred at the railroad haul between Naro-Fominsk and Bekasovo, when a freight train got off the tracks and rode into a long-distance train going from Moscow to Chisinau.
Some 250 people and 35 machines, including aviation equipment, are working at the site of the accident.
