More than 98,000 police officers, servicemen and representatives of law enforcement public associations will ensure security during United Voting Day in Russia on Sunday.

More than 98,000 police officers, servicemen and representatives of law enforcement public associations will ensure security during United Voting Day in Russia on Sunday, the Interior Ministry said.

A total of 7,900 elections of different levels will be held in 77 Russian regions on October 10. Six constituent members will elect deputies to legislative assemblies.

Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev assured the nation that antiterrorist security will be ensured during the vote.

He said the most frequent violations on election days are illegal campaigning, rallying and hooliganism, as well as violence against deputies and people from their circle.

Central Election Commission chairman Vladimir Churov said there are 30 million voters; 105,000 candidates were nominated and 100,000 were registered to run.
