Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who is heading for a two-day working visit to Finland next week, will discuss with Finnish President Tarja Halonen the development of bilateral relations, European security and visa issues, a Kremlin source said.

The source said that during the talks, which will be held in Halonen's summer residence at Kultaranta in the town of Naantali, Medvedev and Halonen will discuss the development of trade and economic relations, cooperation in the energy and lumber industries, European security and the simplification of a visa regime between Russia and the EU.

During the talks the sides are also expected to discuss nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation issues.

The source added that despite the recession, Russia managed to remain one of the main trade partners with Finland.

Last August, Halonen was a guest of the Russian president at his summer dacha.
