ROSTOV-ON-DON, January 3 (RIA Novosti) - A court in the Rostov Region in Russia's south has found two persons guilty of large-scale drug sales and sentenced them to long prison terms, the regional department of the Federal Security Service said Wednesday.

The court of Kamensk-Shakhtinsk sentenced Leonid Bezuglov and Vladimir Krainyukov to 18 and 14 years in high-security prison for the sale of opium, the department said.

"The accused lived secretively, showed increased caution and used conspiracy measures. Bezuglov and Krainyukov sold opium only through several trusted people. Despite that, the security officers managed to catch them red-handed and provide proof in the court of law," the department said.

During a search operation at the places where the drug dealers lived, the security officers found opium in an amount equivalent to 1,200 drug doses, the department said.
