MOSCOW, June 30 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin has submitted a bill on the merger of the Krasnoyarsk region, and the Taimyr and the Evenki autonomies, in Siberia, to the State Duma (the lower chamber of parliament), the Kremlin said. Putin sent a letter to the Duma's speaker, Boris Gryzlov, requesting that the issue be considered a top priority.
The bill was submitted under article 84 of the Russian Constitution.
