VLADIVOSTOK, JUNE 3, (RIA Novosti's Anatoly Ilyukhov) - Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov, commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, inspected the Pacific fleet, noting that "it was looking good." The inspection also involved a large group of admirals and Navy officers.
Talking to RIA Novosti here today, people at the Pacific fleet's press center noted that the commission had mostly analyzed the results of the winter-time combat-training program and practical assistance in organizing the summer-time training season.
The commission headed by Kuroyedov gave a good mark to the Pacific fleet's troop-control divisions.
Kuroyedov ordered two nuclear-powered submarines to conduct a simulated high-seas duel. The submarine crew received a good mark for its target-practice session, as well as an excellent mark for the firepower factor.
