Turkey Coup Was a 'Gift From God' for Turkey

President Erdogan calls the failed coup in Turkey a “gift from god”; incidents of tortured victims during the 2015 Paris attacks allegedly suppressed by the French authorities.

Following the unsuccessful military coup in Turkey, President Erdogan has referred to the coup as a gift for god, allowing him to clear out many who oppose his government. We'll be looking at the coup's failure and the international response. We talk to the international human rights lawyer Margaret Owen, and Dr John MacDonald of the Scottish Global Forum.

Reports have emerged which suggest that horrific torture carried out during the Paris attack last year was suppressed by French authorities. We discuss this with Matt Sienkiewicz, Ph.D. at Boston College.
