BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — Reynders called for showing Trump the usefulness of the European Union and the alliance.

Belgium's foreign minister expressed hope that the upcoming NATO summit in Brussels would help with proving the worthiness of the organization to Trump.
On Sunday, in an interview with The Times and Bild, the US president-elect said that the organization was not effective in terms of combating terrorism and had to be reformed.
